Work with how?
More boost? Power gains up to 130kw? More?
I know of a N/A engine with 250,000 that then had a big turbo and pump work etc fitted, and still went fine. 190rwkw, was still going strong 100,000 later.
General rule of thumb, double the power, halve the life. That said, stock they are very under stressed.
A good way to check its past life ( if you've recently purchased), lift the rocker cover off and check for sludgy build up. If its clean, it should be a good basis to start. Blow much blue smoke ( longer than a second or two) on cold start? Have you done a leak down test?

Pretty sure the Gu non turbo black top have the lighter internals. In other words less capable of handelling much boost 15psi with an intercooler max so i have been told. But then you hear stories of people running a lot more than that.
If you can find a factory turbo engine this would probally be better as you get the boost compensator 11mm pump and the tuffer internals.
