1 hz low oil pressure

on start up oil pressure good then quickly falls. normal driving oil pressure just reaches first bar.idling at lights oil light comes on.any ideas
not enough info!
has this happened suddenly or developed over time?
is the oil level correct?
is the oil grade correct?
is the oil fresh or contaminated?
i all of the above have been checked then the next step is to get hold of a master gauge and see what the oil pressure actualy is. it could be a lot of things but unless the engine is old and tired it could be just the transducer or gauge.
