Hi guys I have a RB30 turbo pootrol now running about 12psi and I love it to bits but I have been looking to do an engine swap only because I have modified my RB30 so much that when it brakes down I can't do any thing but get a trailer and tow it home.. so as I tow my race car a bit and also have a little play off road now and again I was thinking the Barra or BA 4lt motor... I know a few people have done this and just wanted to know how every one when about the wiring.. if any one could help that would be great.

Is your RB30 a non turbo engine that's been turbo'd or is it a proper Turbo engine ??

Why does the RB30 keep breaking down, what issues is it causing ??

They are a great engine and can cop a real flogging if done right, might be worth putting a twin cam RB25/30 engine in and that would make more power easily I think....

ok my RB30 dosen't always brake down it's done it once... what i'm saying is with my RB30 its running a Autronic ECU and a custom dissy to suit the ecu so when or if i have a spark problem it's not as if i can just ring some one to bring me a dissy to put in it on the side of the road.. stuff like that.. I have bought another GQ this one a TB42 so i'm doing the barra in that. I have almost got it done only really engine mounts to go.. I have done everything myself from making the bell housing to making the clutch... and I have kept the cost under $1500 so far and that with buying all the turbo gear to go on it..... before anyone goes on and says i'm full of s#*t I have got some real bargains like that FG sump, pick up and windage tray for $50.. I also got a GT35/82 1.06 rear housing for $200 cause he didn't know what he had.. I built the bell housing for under $100 and the clutch under $400.. i will be running a 44mm wastegate on 8psi full 4" exhaust 3" cooler piping front mount the normal stuff.. I also picked up a set of 575cc injectors for $53 well i should say a carton of piss.. so I'm winning so far.

With your RB30 and dizzy issues, have you thought about running coil pack's inside up under the dash and a crank angle sensor and blocking the dizzy off altogether ???
