Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi Guys I am Just looking at getting a Impact Wrench for 4WD trips and camping...

Just to have in the 4wd to use on EVERYTHING from Wheel nuts to Head Bolts and Crankshaft, harmonic Balancer ect..

Budget 200ish..

Anyone tried the Super cheap one?

We run all three of the makita ones. Have been great so far. I would not buy the baby brushed unit again, as the baby brushless is so much better.

I wouldn't have a cordless impact to leave in a car. Chances are when you actually need to use it the battery will be flat. I get by with just hand tools, but there are plenty of good 12 volt corded impacts that work. ARB used to, perhaps still do sell a good cheap one.

In the garage, the cordless impacts are awesome. I have two dewalt ones, a 200nm and a 540nm one. I've always had air tools, but I tend to grab the electrics a lot now. It takes less than a minute to whip out all those tappet cover bolts, or those automatic transmission pan bolts. If I can physically get the impact in there, I'll use it!

I would also vote the Makita 18V battery impact wrench. There is available a cigarette lighter (12vDc to 18V adaptor to keep your batteries charged on the move. PS it takes longer to charge!!!

makita were happy to do a swap and get the larger nm impact wrench and cordless drill set
Throw in a extra battery
brushless kit

weve got the milwalkee gear at work 18vlt impact driver big SUCKER AND heavy as well as the big cordless drill
warranty claims no issues in general...ALWAYS pays the claim in repairs
any milwalkee gear....grinders, die grinders,drills...anything with their name is heaps DEARER but warranty cant be beat if your going to use it ALOT.or cop a hard time
as its 3year warranty and you DO pay at LEAST twice to 3times rhe price to buy it

hitachi wont touch us..
no warranty ever paid.

Not really buying much of the makita gear...

id have no issues with makita myself
always try to buy the dearer, stronger model in its range

All the manufacturers have lesser specification models and good models and best models. One has top carefully check the specifications in order to get true value.
i also only buy the top of the manufacturer range

As you'll read through you'll see I'm a Hitachi man through n through.....
but I have to admit, my boss has been using the 18V Ryobi gear and I cant fault it
except its half the price of the better know/accepted gear

Batteries, Batteries this is the secret to Impact wrenches. Do a search on the WEB makita lists a cigarette lighter adaptor charger to cahrge their lithium Ion batteries. It takes much longer compared to 240V power but means you can always have "fresh" batteries. I would recommend 18V versus 12v for the "grunt" always check the newton metres of the tool

And Makita make a 36v Chainsaw using to 18v batterys.
