hey guys i have a 2L-T powered rn106r and want to know what gbox i have how do i confirm what gbox is behind the old oiler

Check your compliance plate but probably a R150f or R151f

Hang on a minute... RN106 and 2lte? That can't be right unless it's been swapped?
The RN woulda had a petrol I'd have thought and probably just a G52 but if they swapped in the diesel then don't know whether they swapped box too... Um so first step I guess would be to find out what transfer case you have whether it's chain drive or gear drive. Reason for that is because the standard RN box which is a G52 would have a gear drive case whereas the 2lte had a R150 or R151 and they had a chain drive case from standard. So that'll be the first step I reckon

Cheers mate yeah its an early 2L fitted with aftermarket turbo ...rebuilt and all...im trying to figure out what I have so its rego as a RN106R....what does 106 stand for? Also my vin I jt731rna40800 can anybody shed some light on what my vin reads as I know Japan Toyota and 7 stands for passenger vehicle I think...any way any help is greatly appreciated

Pretty sure 106 is just the model designation for that rounder shape that came out in 1988 and ran to 1997.
The LN was diesel and the RN was petrol.
What is it in the VIN your trying to figure out exactly?
