What diffs do you have? I have temporarily fitted a standard Rangey diff to the rear of my LandRover while I modify the airlocker. When I make a turn under power it clunks, If I coast around a corner it doesn't clunk. I removed the oil drain plug the other day and poked my finger in there to find that the crosspin had lost a circlip and was trying to get away.

If it's not what bill said,
I had a similar noise in my RR not long ago, turned out the panhard rod bush's were stuffed and the clunck was the diff moving when you turned.

Further to what DAS said, I had the nut and bolt on the chassis end of the panhard rod come loose at one stage. clunk.

im running standard diffs with air lockers maxi axles and 110cvs
the noise dosent appear to be comming from the diffs more the wheel area but it happens driving down a straight road by turning the wheel 1/2 a turn

Check the panhard bushes and if there fine then I not saying it is this but my front end was doin this before I completely broke the cross pin and blew up the front centre as the cross pin would play around abit when the axles speeds changed at each end.

Easy to check bushes too. Hold hand around bush and side of hand leaning on next part.
2nd person rocks vehicle as hard as they can from side to side. You Will feel the play.
