can anyone tell me if there are any differences between the length of the trayback chassis and the sierra chassis i just want to know if i can put the tray back cab on the sierra chassis

Should go straight on.

If it is swb chassis, I think you will find that the back of the body will be quite close to the tyres if you are running anything over standard. This will look a bit odd too.

If you have a LWB sierra chassis, then the cab will fit and look sweet, and the install will be very clean as you won't have all the subframe etc welded onto the chassis to support the factory tray.

cool thanks for the info went to the engineers today and asked about puttin a 1.8 ltr diesel into a zook and i got told "go for it" so it looks like i am on the lookout for a diesel gemini to raid for the motor unless someone can suggest a different 4 cyl diesel up to 2 ltr capacity

We have a car in the club with a Gemini diesel, seemed very good, but the car was previously 1.0 litre, so there was a horsepower increase as well as a big torque increase when it was fitted. (was running a homemade series 1 Rockhopper and 31;s) Certainly crawled very nicely, never saw what the wheelspeed was like in mud though. ( It is currently being reworked a bit)

If you have a 1.3, you might need a bit more poke than a gem diesel.

There is a toyota townace turbo diesel available on import that is about a 1.8 turbo ad apparently has the same bolt pattern as a k series corolla motor, these are, I think, quite cheap by diesel standards - might be worth invesigating, esp as you could theoretically fit a AE70 Corolla trimatic behind it for sweet climbing ability.
