I went to the pits today to find out what mods i can legaly do to my zook and the answer was nothin 50mm of lift and 75mm wider unless i do a swerve test and get engineers reports on everything, even the they can jsut say no, a swerve test cost $1000 and engineers reports cost heeps to. Well i say fuck the police ill use that $1000 to pay the many yellow and red stickers commin my way.

What if you run up the back of a Merc, write it off and insurance won't pony up?

Then they sue your ass...

50mm is adequate. Get some bigger tyres (for offroad use only if you wanna play it safe), and drive the fucking thing.

Bazooked you have to have a cat converter in wa, that thing bout it being a fire hazzard is bullshit. U can have harness's if your rear seat and seatbelts are removed from the vehicle. I think u can have a full roll cage but he wasnt to clear on that he said if it dont interfear with drivers visibility its ok(unless he meant when u look in ya rear vision mirror???But then its a ute so i dont think what u can see behind u matters??).U can only have 8" wide rims. The track must not exceed over 80mm of the manufaxturer's specs. Side pipes arnt permited on passenger cars(looks like suzi's gettin side pipes big 3" dumper should do it  ). Steering mods not to much of a problem and finaly u can have neon lights like fast and furious ill get the big sub crankin and lights flashin then i can be just like all the homos in there lancers. ;)

Yellow sticks are just a sign of being tuff.

I decided it would be to hard so i'm just gonna ride the pushy to work and drive the zook as little as possible. That 50mm also includes the extra height of the tires so your stuffed what ever you do.

Old gemini's and escorts are cheap and you can thrash the hell out of them. Would work great as a daily driver

Fairy muff.

If you're already running 31s and 5" lift, how come you don't have any stickers yet? (I assume this is some WA thing...)

That's where the system falls flat on its face I reckon  Heaps of people just say fcuk it like you are and cop fines which are less than trying to jump through the hoops :? I'm not having a go, QLD is the same so I understand

I don't believe it is right to have modifications unmonitored either though BUT it simply isn't feasible to get them engineered in many cases like yours. NSW is absolutely ideal and I'd happily engineer everything under a system like that. It's win win, the govt gets to police vehicle modifications and make some more revenue and people are happy there is an avenue to properly and legally approve their vehicles.

Best thing for you 'apprentice' is to do your thang, drive it as little as possible and try to keep everything bolt on only. That way if they defect you and order you to go over the pits you can put it back to standard pretty quickly, get through, pay the fine and bolt the mods back on.

That's the crux of what I'm trying to do with mine. Not ideal but neither are the ridiculous draconian systems :x

The apprentice can you change the title to something a little less offending. The more I work in local government the more I realise that it takes years to change rules and by that time they do they need to be changed again. I have heard talk about changing all the rules in Aus so that every thing is the same (kinda like the building code of australia works) but more then likely it will be at least 5-10 years away.

I think we just need to accept that the WA rules suck but their is nothing that can be done about it.

WA itself doesn't suck!

the 31's and 5" lift is goin since thats illegal might as well make the most of it yj jeep springs 2" lifted, spring over with hilux diffs about another 4", then shackel mounts and shackles, 2-3 inch then maby body lift but i doubt it, 35" x 12.5 swampers(ill just copy bazooked's setup for the springs and do the diffs and t/s at work thats the bonus of working in a place that does drive lines).

Lets see, a 5" lift is illegal so instead you are going to go with about 9" of lift, hilux diffs and 35s. Surely that will attract more attention than the 5" lift and 31s.
Also why so much lift to clear 35s?

I think he may like bazooked's zook. It works offroad for him so why not.

Kinda like when i saw the way you, greg and bigsteve had set your rigs up. Not that I have seen them offroad but I liked the theory so I copied.

But lift is over rated when most of the driving over here is steep hill climbs in a short wheel base.
