Hey guys
I know this one could be hard to answer but i need to know what the weight of a gen 2 hilux twin cab(CAB ONLY) would be with all panels, doors and interior still in
Also what would be the best way to lift it. Ive got use of a truck with hiab crane but just need to know where to put the slings on the cab when i lift it
Need to replace the cab on my hilux and dont really want to have to pull all the interior out. If i have too i will take the doors off but dont want to pull anything else off it
All help appreciated

and about slinging it, depends on,
if u don't want it damaged,
what type of slings u have and how long are they.

go to a building site and grab some lengths of 3 by 4 or something like that, stick em under the doors(underneath the car) so they stick out either side of the car, 4 slings i hope, or 2 very long ones
with 4 slings,
take a bite on the ends of each bit of timber, up over the cab like a pyramid with all 4 in the hook on ya hiab use carpet or rubber incase the slings are touching the panels,
if 2 slings
u could use abit a rhs, open ya doors shorten the slings till the rhs sits about in the middle of the opening put a bolt in the end of the rhs, if ya want so it don't slip off, then lift with chains or something from the rhs to your hiab,
or u could try and balance it on one loop instead of doin a pyramid, get about the middle, is more dangerous though,
see how ya go, let us know when ya get it off,
do u want a well back tray and canopy for it $600 the lot

Thanx for the tips mate
Mate with the truck work for formwork company so no shortage of 3x4's
I was actually thinking of slinging it thru the cab behind the b pillar with 3x4 and then another sling attached to the radiator support pannel
Nah this one will come with a style side back as part of the deal
Still thinking it would be cheaper and easier to fix all the rust in my xtra-cab and just keep it
Saves having to get engineers and move body mounts around

mine is a gen 2 x-tra cab and the cab i was gonna get is a gen 2 twin cab so the new cab would be longer

so time to get out the grinder and welder and start fixing
