Im looking to turn my D90 in to a ute by removing the current hardtop and fitting the cab from a trayback defender.

If anyone knows someone or has one or even knows a wrecker that may have one please PM me.

Im currently scouring wreckers but no luck yet.

Below is my inspiration.

FWD motors in Brisbane, there in brisbane and not 2 hours north of it like British off road.

Henry is a mate of mine and hooked me up with alot of parts when i owned my landie.

here's a pickie... i did the same conversion... very simple... you wont regret it.

thats a series truckcab, quite abit cheaper than county/fender truck cabs.
they seem to be as rare as rocking horse poo
i know a few different guys looking for truck cabs to put on rangerovers.
makes for an easier v8 ute conversion. 100" to boot

i know mine was a series but FWD has a lot of county parts as well and if he doesnt have it he knows someone that does. If your not worried abot the distance give him a ring he will help you out.

Only 1 problem, the late D90 comes without the bulkhead behind the front seats? It has a tubular bar across the body for structure.

SO where are you going to attach the truck cab to the rear body?

If you find one and are interested in selling your current D90 roof please let me know. I am looking for a roof for my 100in Landie on a RR chassis and i want to cut down a roof to about a foot behind the bulkhead.

It turned out that cab i mentioned before was only the roof section and wasnt missing the rear glass, it was missing the whole rear!!

I have my name down at british offroad, if the get a cab theyre going to give me a call. Of the small ammount of cab chassis defenders they see are usually rolled so the cab is screwed for a start.

Still very keen to do this though as the panel van type hardtop i have now is very restrivtive on the vision. Looking for traffic before you reverse out of a park is next to impossible!!

toorak tractor in breaside melb. has 2 defender utes (cab chassiss)
usually the defenders they get in are not rolled, only front/rear hits.
i am turning my 110 cab chassis into a s/w and the rear panels and roof are promised to anthony at british 4wd (bayswater melb.)
you are welcome to call him about price. he is a decent guy.

Thought I'd resurect this rather than post a new topic - just to prove that I did search!
I'm converting my 110 2 door to a ute cab. Have found a 110 ute roof (fiberglass replica) on ebay but 110 upper cab backs are very hard to find.

Will a Series upper cab back fit with the 110 ute roof and Defender tub ?

i just converted my 93 ute to s/w, anthony a british offroad may still have the ute stuff. s/h ute roofs can be had for $300-$400. don't pay smack money for a fibreglass copy. series rear window and body fits i think.
Anthony will know for sure.

I have a defender Ute roof and Upper cab section. Not realy sure what its worth though. It is complete and in good condition from memory. Had a few dints on the roof but no rust anywhere. Im pretty sure the hood lining is still there as well although its painted bright blue. The Roof and rear section is White.

Looking to do the same to my 90 (convert to tray back ute). Have tried Anthony in Bayswater. In no desperate hurry to find one as I have a soft top to go on but if someone comes across one would be thankful to hear about it!

Also have a 90 hard top if anybody is interested...... am located in melb.
