Hi all,
I'm new to the Toyota scene, and am looking for advice on my next purchase.
I'm looking at an early 90's 2.8d hilux, or a 3.5d Cruiser (early 90's)
It will be a daily driver, so on road comfort is fairly important, but willing to compromise.
What are your thoughts on the early Prado's? Front & rear coils, 3.0td engine.
Ease of modifying would be important ie 2-3" lift and running 33's
The lux would be a dble cab, but the cruiser would be a swb or mwb.

Cheers,
Dave

I bought my Hilux about 12 months ago after selling my 60 seriers and this is what i found between the single cabs and dual cabs.Im 100kg and 6` .Comfort was a big deal for me as i was doing 400k 1 way trips when i bought the Hilux and here are my opions

Hilux Dual cab with a tray back (not wheel well) good points
4x4 :D
could adjust seats to a comfortable position
Diesel & manual
Flat tray for sleeping on while travelling-fishing-etc
Goes everywhere my cruise did just a tad slower and with more revs

Bad things i found so far for the Hilux
2.8 needs a turbo (dies a bit in the hills while towing my race bikes & gear)

Good things i found in the single cab cruisers & patrols
4x4 aswell :D
Bigger diesel engines

Bad things
Only seats 2-3 people
cant get the seats back far enough to be compfy for me

Hope this helps you a bit
