how do you guys fill your diffs / gearboxes if you dont have access to hoists?
I have only filled up diffs on the hoist from big 500ltr barrels that have oil pumps fitted...
I would like to replace my bundies diff / transfer / box oils, but yeh, need to know what you guys are using if changing it while on the floor.

cplux I just filled my rear diff and it used 2L almost exactly I couldn't find the volume for the front or the rear so I would say 2L.
As for filling the diffs I bought a $2 funnel that has a bendable end from a parts store (you can get em from repco and autobarn ect.ect) and I have connected a 2m length of garden hose to the end of the funnel.
I then have a small piece of copper pipe at the end of the hose which fits into the filler hole easier (and lets the air out so it doesn't go back up the hose).
Just put the funnel a couple of meters above where the diff/gearbox sits and let gravity do the work.
As for type of oil, I just use Valvoline SAE 90 (top shit)
Hope it helps,
Regards,
Nick

well, I was just down at my repco store today, getting some brake fluid, and de-greaser, and I came across a funell type thing that alows you to put oil in, and pour it into diffs.. cost me about $4.
thought I might as well buy it as I will be using it quite a bit

Get the 1 litre Castrol oil with the filler "straw" in it
I know 1 litre is more expensive, but buy a 4 litre and once you have used the 1 litre keep topping it up from the 4 litre
Then keep it in your "kit"

that 1l bottle is an idea, but I am getting bulk as I am going to change mine, and my brother in laws diff oil
will be cheaper to buy a 6litre bottle than 6x1L bottles..
thanks for the advice tho
might get some to keep in the truck when wheeling, just in case anything happens
