Busted stub axle

Wondering if anyone could give me some hints on what to watch for when replacing the right side front stub axle on a Vitara.

The diff rotates and the axle doesn't, and there's about an inch of movement where its supposed to be connected to the diff, so I reckon she's shot :?

Ok the right side has broken the axle (the bit that sits in the diff) keep the old cv for spares and you may have too pull the center out depends on how bad the broken bit is if you have a strong magnet or needle nose pliers you MAY be able to pull it out. A new seal would be good also as the shaft may have damaged it but the diff comes out real easy anyway and it's very light.

Yep, she's all done. It was the inner CV joint that had shattered into lots of pieces :? , but a trip to Suzi Four got me a complete front right axle for 50 bucks. Thanks guys ! Maybe the 31 MTR's are a bit hard on the drive train

:? Just broke the left hand inner CV now. I detect a pattern forming. Girlfriend takes Vitara off road, girlfriend breaks Vitara, girlfriend waits for me to fix Vitara, girlfriend takes Vitara off road

Is the front unlocked?

The only time i broke a CV when my zook was unlocked in the front was when i was turning and reversing up a hill at the same time.....A BIG NO NO....

Suzuki Viagra, the Cv's would be well over 90 000 k's by now ;) so no complaints there, I reckon its the 31's and lift that are showing up the age.

Camskizook, its not locked yet, I was tossing up an air locker or maybe Lockrite ( cheaper :!: ) to try and reduce the shock loading of individual CV's, although I reckon by the way she drives I'll have to replace both at once n

Maybe rev limit the Vit to 1000 RPM
