Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi....as you all know getting the new tyres next weekend and have been thinking about putting a new set of rims on there while I am at it. Rang the tyre place today to get a price blah blah blah and was told that they can't get new sunnies to fit the feroza Is that true or has everyone who is running them just got second hand ones?

Kell, sunraysias are available- I bought some about eight months ago and Dave has some too.

Mine were 15x7 and CSA Ranger RV- but don't buy them. I had wheel balance problems that turned out to be caused by sideways runout. Even the replacement set was no better.

Dave's are Speedy Desert Rat IIRC and he reckons they're good. ROH also make the Trak and TrakII that I've seen on a Feroza.

I'd recommend alloys if you can afford them- you'll be looking at around $500 extra over sunraysias. They are made to much better tolerances and I have noticed a slightly better ride since changing over.

Make sure you get 15x7 (an inch wider) as that will give more tyre fittment options and improve handling.

If i were you Kell, i would save your money and get a set of alloys.

I got a set of CSA Magnum RV's 15x7 with 31x10.5 for $1400 fitted and balanced.

Ferozas are same stud pattern at Sierra's and Ford F100's, so their pullin ya leg, and them selves. They havent thoguht about it and research shit for ya.

I had ROC Trak II, the 5 studs cost about $90ea from memory.

In all the years I've been driving off-road, I have never bent a steel rim or cracked an alloy one.

Before the engine conversion, I used to have to hit obstacles harder than other people to get over them......so i should have 'bent' a rim or cracked an alloy purely to how hard I drove !!............NEVER did !!

I think this really applies to the bigger 4WD's.....the ones that weigh at least 2.5T, hitting obstacles hard.


My opinion is to buy what ever you think looks good on your Feroza

You should be able to get ROH Sunraysias for about $50-$60 each. I'm noww running 15x8s and they look a sh!te load better than the 15x7s did=gruntier looking

Another thing to note with Sunraysia pricing is that they don't come with centre caps standard. From memory it adds $10-15 per wheel to get the caps!!

That bought the price for mine up to $75ea.

But centre caps, like side steps, are Grimace!!!

I got me my Speedies for $50.... the lot... look around, you might have to ask some ppl if they have any spare. I found mine in a zook specilist workshop, they are 15X7... I just asked if they had any hanging around and the guy was keen to be rid of them!

And as for centre caps.... they are just gonna be smashed or pulled off in mud sometime so I didnt bother about them. Also gives the car a more serious look.

Ok I'm stoopid (well I think I know what you are referring to) centre caps - are they hub covers? As I don't have covers on mine.

I'm gonna give another tyre place a call today. I have the green feroza so i think the while will look really good...I just want to be different, there are a fair few feroza's up here getting around and they all have the standard rims so I just want mine to stand out and hey I'm spending $230.00 per tyre want to make sure they look great

The centre caps fit over the centre part of the wheel. They cover up the hole in the centre on the back where there is no free wheeling hub; and on the front cover up the free wheeling hub.

Each person has there own preference, but I reckon it looks pretty silly without them- especially on the rear.

I personally think, forget the centre caps. Ive seen those things go rusty on other cars and it looks.....

My rims had more rust on them than the centre caps and I only had them for 8 months.... the centre caps were starting to get a few small spots on them. If you're worried about rust then get alloys.

You don't need to go off-road to bend or crack rims, try hitting a road island at 60ks per hour and check the steering vibration as you limp home.

I personally think the more *bling* the better... put the caps on... then get the door handles and mirrors chromed.... and a chrome roof bar with 4 chrome spotties would make it look fully sick!!!!

Don't forget a chrome exhaust tip like Croz has....

I'm getting a mirror ball and some strobe lights fitted in my "Disco" myself...

It needs a bit of polishing! I'm not putting any pics on here of the rear of mine... ... the first thing Dangerous Dave said when he saw it was "You don't want to keep that tip do you?" as we entered Sheidow.



Jimmy, wheels buckled / cracked would be the least of my concerns if I hit a traffic island at 60km/h. I would be very happy if that was all I stuffed!

Yeah I was cornering too fast proberly hit the island at more like 40ks by the time I threw the ancor. It certainly pulled the vehicle up pretty quick with a massive bang, however I was suprised the only damage was to the rim.

Ask for suzuki sierra ones Actuall f100 is what you want in sunrasyias cause they have a 2" offset = wider track
