Has anyone come up with any idea to lift the handbrake drum so it doesn't hang 2inchs lower then the chasis. All ideas would be appricated.

remove it from the back of gearbox, swap rear axle with one that has a hand brake on axle. thats all you can do. there is a bashplate (factory) which protects the gearbox but not all have it still.
Mine actually came with one under engine & gearbox but they are now too bent

wouldnt bother about it, its in a good spot as it os, okay it hangs a little low, but they work well when they do work, when in 4lo, also locks gearbox which increases your handbrake from 2 to 4 wheels, id never loose it.

You could probably convert the rear axle to rear handbrake with some cables and brackets but you really wouldnt bother.
Nissan went overboard with bash plates on the MQ/MK series as they cover 9/10ths of the underside

I now have none, including the one under the Handbreak is gone as well, it got bent and effected the spinning of the handbreak ( sccrrrraaaaaaaaaaaapppppeeeee )
There are other things that sit lower than it, and because they have such a short wheel base it is relitevly hard to drop it on a rock, then again i have SOA

its very hard to drop it on anything.....

I'm going to lift my drivetrain up into the space left by my body lift, to get the handbrake drum higher.
