need some help.

axle code says g102 which should = 4.38, but they are about 4.8 counting rotations so 4.88 i guess? so does this quote from pirate affect me?

"Note: The above does not apply to the somewhat rare "3rd type" of R&P, the factory 4.88's. These can only be used in the factory 4.88 3rd member housing. This 3rd member housing is different than all the others, and won't accept ANY aftermarket R&P or factory gears of any other ratio. If you have one of these 3rds, it will be that way forever. Please don't sell this 3rd (or god-forbid an empty 3rd member housing) to anyone without fully explaining what they are getting, think of the potential frustration."

anybody know a factory or real total weight for a single cab rn46? without a tray and a few other bits mine is ~1300kg

whats the difference between an rn41 and rn46? body is rn41..... and chassis is rn46....., is it a 2wd cab maybe?

finally, what years did the w series gbox get used in 4wd luxs?

Cheers
Daryl

rn41 is 2wd and i believe the statement from pirate refers to 2wd floating axles in the early 1ton truck

rn46, 18r 4spd will be 4.88 gears. they have a crushable spacer. when swapped to a solid they seem to be alot stronger.

So do all hilux's have the crushable sleeve? are all hilux 8" centres basically the same here or is there better/more desirable ones aside from ratio/lsd/housing width considerations?

8" except for IFS and the more desirable ones are the later ones with extra fins on the third member
