Weak turret

Am in the process of stripping down my 2 door 1980 RR. Have pulled all the panels and roof off the vehicle to treat the dreaded rusty disease. I think I saw some discussion regarding the weakenss of the turret area at some stage, but am blown away by how weak it is! I was able to twist the roofing mounts with one hand.
Was thinking about putting in a roll cage, but now definitely will! Anyone know where I can get a rated one for 4wd comps?

Last week I helped a friend pick up the mortal remains of 2 LandRover 130 twin cab Defenders that had been in single light rollovers.The bodywork on these pieces of crap literally disintegrated and would have offered the occupants no protection whatsoever.I do not know how these vehicles could have complied with any country's design rules for crashworthiness. There must be a loophole where LandRovers are not considered to be either cars or trucks. I think if you own any LandRover post 1985 or any RangeRover a full Roll cage should be the first thing on your shopping list, before tyres, lockers etc. If you intend using the vehicle for regular competion where rollovers can be expected then a chassis mounted exterior roll cage will save you a lot of time and money replacing bent and buggered body panels, and trying to get everything lined up again.
I cannot recommend any particular company to make the cage for you. You could hire or buy a pipe bender and make your own.
