Replacing Seats

I am replacing the seats in the lux and was trying to find info on seat brackets and Australian Design Rule (ADR) 3 - Seat Anchorages. Vic roads says it must comply with ADR 3, but doesnt provide anyinfo on the rule.

I am using all the same holes in the hilux but the rear seat brackets need an addition piece of metal to make them line up. The bracket off the seat comes off at a 45 degree angle, where I need it to be flat, hence I was going to just make another 45 degree bracket and attach it so the seat can bolt to the floor.

Now can i weld these? bolt them together? Whats the rules?

ADR 3 - Seats and Seat Anchorages
The function of this national standard is to specify requirements for 'Seats', their attachment assemblies, and their installation to minimise the possibility of occupant injury due to forces acting on the 'Seat' as a result of vehicle impact.

Useful isnt it... You could try this..

ADR 3 - Seat Anchorages.
Requirements for seats, their attachment assemblies and installation to reduce failure in crashes. Hinged or folding seats must be self-locking with the lock release within reach of the seat occupant or any other person seated immediately behind the seat. ADR 3A specifies additional requirements for seats intended to be fitted with child restraints.

From what I was told when I did my Paratus seats, if you modify the mount in anyway you are in poo.
Give Williams a call he will let u no.

I have fitted replacement seats to a landie in QLD and had them approved. I was told by the engineer:

You cannot cut/weld/modify the mounts fitted to the seat, you must use them as they are.

You can make additional brackets to mount them but the engineer approving them has to deem they are appropriate and strog enough.

All bolts used must be grade 8 or higher.

If you don't use the original vehucle floor holes you must use a 75x75x3mm steel plate under the floor at the mounting location. The plate must have radiused corners.
