anyone got some pics of some sliders for their GQ shortys, i found a mate who can make me a set of sliders and i just need to find out how people joined them to the chasis rails or the like.
also measurements would be helpful too.
would 3mm thick steel pipe be allright for strength?
thanks
Peter

Peter i started on mine this arvo hopefully post some pics next week ...............
I also have pics of DUFF's of which i will post soon too
mine are gunna be the dual tube type .....bolt on ..........
The front mount is a pain in the arse and ive actually mounted mine off the crossmember/bodymount protrusion off the chassis.......becomes a pain as the mount point on the actual slider becomes a fair way back from the front end of the slider which weakens it ............im gunna be addin a brace to mine not sure if it will help much but it cant hurt ......
the rear mount on mine is alittle easier than it will be on yours as i now have NO lower link brkt on the outside of the chassis rail which meant i could put the back mount further um BACK

.......
Just using 50 od x 4mm wall thick pipe..................10mm &12mm plate welded to the chassis tapped 12mm and 8mm plate that bolts the actaull slider up to the rails .....................
Will post pics wen we CAN n WEN there DONE

Just do them like mine. Lots have seen me hilift my wagon from the sliders to change cv's ect, rigs winched back onto there wheels from the sliders and 8 sets in the last Outback. That should say enough.
They are cheap if you want them made

Peter dont waste any more time enquiring, just order a set from Cheezy, he done a set for me for my GU wagon, Look great & tough as nails already saved me $$$ in panel damage.

Just asked my wife (the boss) and she said you can have an account as long as you have a registered business in the 4x4 industry, you are not too close to another outlet and you pay within 14 days. So I dont see to many probs there.

MY set up now has three mount points 1 off the chassi (rear ) ........1 off the crossmember protrusion (middle ).....and 1 off the front body mount brkt ..........(front)
canned the brace idea the front mount looks a bit dodgy (6 mm plate bolted to the body BRKT and tube welded on its side n braced off the plate ) the front mount is bolt in two places the two others have the 4 bolt pattern ... but it seems solid enough
Just gotta add soke braces to the otha mounts then bend up the outta tube ( wishin now i had 1 of those u beut holesaw tube notcher thingy doodads ) cause its gunna be a pain gettin the notches right on the outta tube

all the others were just done in the pedestial drill with the trusty 50mm holesaw ..............
