G'day guys
Have just bought a warn 8000 low mount running steel and am toying with the idea of using a cast hawse fairlead.
Mainly because the cable cannot get pinched between the rolls. A PITA. And l reckon they look better.
Any thoughts? As I know sweet FA about using these with steel.
Thanks
Goodsy

I would use a roller fairlead with steel cable. With highly angled pulls you will loose a lot of winch power into the cable grabbing the hawse.
Aluminium hawses are strictly for plasma rope IMHO. They will last about 5 minutes when used with cable.
Warn cast hawses were/are cast steel I believe and were only intended for light/infrequent use.

word is that rollers are now an unroadworthy item in Vic as they protrude forward and are a danger to pedestrians...hence need to be covered or recessed.
Has any one else heard this?
