Will these Centres fit into FJ73 housings? - Probably Yes...
Are the Axle Splines the same with both models? Don't Know...
Can someone give me some answers, i can pickup to complete diffs cheap, apparently good condition, need to check this though. If they fit I will be grabbing them... Hopefully;-)

yes.. way way oldschool (pre 1969?) might have a different inner axle spline but it's highly unlikely you're looking at bits that old.
be aware also that pre '77 (I think) 40's diffs have coarse spline diff pinion shafts and these are known to collapse the pinion bearings more eaasily than the later ones, they are however still a pretty tuff diff.

I had both a late 45 diff (fine spline) and a HJ75 diff sitting on my bench together recently. The only difference I could tell was the thread size of the pinion thread and nut. The later diff had a larger thread by about 2mm. I guess the pinion flange had a larger hole too, didn't check. The actual hemisphere and centre housing were 100% identical as far as I could tell.

pre 1976 diffs have a course spline wich is weeker but the new modles have the fine spline
