Front Shocks??

Post by 95Montero »

Ok, I'm not the brightest on this subject but here it goes... apparently I shouldn't have posted in the topic of frank and rancho's.

the RS99263 may possibly work on Gen 2's gives a 4.250 Travel
Same top mounting as the factory but uses a cross pin on the lower. Two optios here: the lower mount can be un bolted from the A-Arm and it may just bolt in...second option can the cross pin be cut off or pushed out?

Was Just looking at the Rancho Specs. the 99223 = 9.375 / 13.00
the one I mentioned Above 99263 = 10.125 / 14.375 Compressed and Extended lenghts. at worst make a lower bump stop extension of .750 for those of us who really Stuff the wheel to keep from bottoming the shock.

My front Koni's are 9.53" compressed and 13.58" extended (4.05" travel).
My upper bumpstops have been trimmed down to 8mm from 25mm and I had my two lower bumpstops cut in half (with 31"s) and there was enough travel in the shocks.
Now I have put standard lower bumpstops back in to run 33"s to stop the wheel rubbing on the guard at full compression.
I reckon the RS99029 would work 10.375" compressed and 14.50" extended (4.125" travel) if you kept the standard lower bumpstops.
It has the S42 top mount (standard Pajero) and a LS26 bottom mount (standard is LS24) so should bolt straight in.
