can anyone give me some advice on what springs and shocks to use on my hilux 89 mod v6 pickup. At moment suspension is stock and is also a daily driver. Ive noticed people using IFS springs front and back, is there much stuffing around to do this? would i need cross over steer? im on a bit of a budget, would be doing the work myself, any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

depends wpt u want your truck 2 do after u setup the suspension ???
u want big lift ?? flex ?? nice ride ?? load carrying ??
and yes in answer 2 your question people do run IFS rears front and rear, in the rear they basically bolt in nesides changein the bush in the front mount over and running some longer shackles and lift blocks nice and easy.
now 2 put them in the front requires some more work u have a few different options
- drop the front spring mounts
- drop the front spring mounts and move them foward
- weld a shackle on under the frame further back than std 2 allow u 2 run the srpings
- if u move the front mounts forward 3" then u can run banana shaped shackle and use the std thru the chassi shackle mount.
and if u plan on runnin these in the front then it wood be strongly reccomended that u go cross over coz u will get alot of flex from this setup and the std steerin wont handle it...
hope that helps
