Ive just saved up the money for a rear locker, but before I go out and buy it and try to install myself, I thought id just ask if theres anything hard about the install? Or should I just pay ARB the $300 to install it for me ?
Is there any funny alignment of the diff once its goes back in or anything tricky id need to look out for ?
Thanks guys.

Its not difficult BUT you wont get a remove and replace warranty if you do it yourself. I guess its like buying insurance.
You need to understand how to measure backlash on removal and how to reset it on new centre.
Also how to determine carrier bearing preload.
You will also need a puller to remove old carrier bearing shells.
If its the 3 screw type seal housing one it will need the housing centred with careful use of feeler gauges without cutting into 'o' rings.
If you have played around with diffs etc before it pretty straightforward otherwise.

You also need to drill & tap a hole in the carrier in the right spot, I took the carrier into ARB and got them to do it.

I put a ARB locker in a month ago. Pulled out the centre myself. took it to my local diff shop. they fitted the ARB locker to the centre for 100 bucks and i went home and fitted it to my car. A lot easyier to get a profesional to do it. its not cheap therefore not the best thing to bugger up!
