I am goin to be swapping the drum rear on my shorty for a disc rear before installing lockers. I have a few questions before proceeding any further....

If I am to find a rear disc brake housing without diff center will my third member ? (might be calling it the wrong thing - that thing ya bolt ya driveshaft to and it has a whole lot of bolts holding your diff in place  ) from my drum rear end bolt straight in ? ie; does it have the same bolt pattern ?

My current LSD centre will not be able to work in the disc brake housing. Is that wrong ? I did a search regarding this question and was led to believe you can make a disc centre work in a drum housing but not the other way around because of a 25mm spacer???? or some shite... Has anyone tried ? what would stop a drum centre from fitting a disc...
Obviously if it were to fit I could drive around with disc's before having lockers yay !! :P

I believe the diff centres are the same for disc and drum versions. There is a spacer pressed on to the axle shaft just inside the flange--this 'may' be a different width for the disc model. You would also need to check that there is enough thread on the axle shaft once your's are pressed in to the disc models bearings as the disc model has 2 wheel bearings and 'possibly' a longer bearing housing on the end of the axle housing.

Hope you've got access to a Press...
