Anyone know if they're available? or possible?

the 2.8 has got a cracked manifold and will need replacing soon ($400 ex japan) so I'm just curious as I haven't had any positive responses yet!

I think the closest equivalent to "turbo extractors" would be a "split pulse" manifold (which typically requires a matching turbine housing) or a manifold with all runners equal length. And shorter isn't necessarily better...

Approach some of the bigger names in aftermarket turbocharging - they may have manifolds which will out-perform stock units.

Cheers,

Scott

Extractors per say won't work on the 2.8 TDI.
The reason is that you have an exhaust manifold specifically designed for the turbo. Extractors don't work with a turbo.
You will have to replace the manifold with a factory unit or try and find an aftermarket one that is made out of better material and may flow a little better.

Hey 4Runna, surely one of the local exhaust shops that specialize in extractors for the turbo hot fours scene could knock you up a stainless steel manifold at a fair price. Or if you had the time you could replicate the genuine manifold out of steam pipe bends.
