G'day I am trying to take the gear shift levers of so I can swap them with some modded ones.

I have gotten the gear shift out. All I did was take it off with the cover plate. And if the guy who I am going to swap with wants to swap without the cover plate and looks like theres is a couple of circlips holding it all together.

Now the hard bit how do I get the transfercase lever off. It is undone to the point it is just hanging from the transfer case by all the linkage. Any ideas.

Also the drive line is siting on the bell housing under a shelve and isnt easy to get to. geez there heavy buggers.

On the transfercase there is a 10mm nut that I undid and then tried to lever the shifter off. But all I ended up doing was buggering a cheap screw driver.

Thanks Bazzle,
I found a 10mm nut on the last pivot before the transfer case. Will have a look inside the first boot tommorow. Couldnt find the pliers before so didnt pull the boots off.

dead easy

Last nut on the pivot.. a 10mm one like bazzle said..and it should slide out easily enough.

I installed my transfer just recently and grinded away a bit of the floorpan to accommodate it bec of the body lift :?

A bit of a carefull grind of the floor pan easy and pretty neat. but a bit noiser! Probably bending sticks is a good way to go.

I found where the circlips where and was able to get the levers out no problems except for getting grease every where.
