Looking for a widetrack rear diff housing for 84 hilux 4 link coil conversion. Just wondering if the V6 4runner/surfs with coil rears have the same width rear housings as ifs luxs ad will they accept the standard 84 diff centre. Is it worth trying to use the existing coil mounts on the diff or is it better just to build new mounts? Plan to use new mounts for links. Do any of the surfs have factory rear disk brakes?

There slightly wider by a few mill and the centres are exchangable but better to use the v6 centre(stronger)and it would be easiet to use the standard coil mounts but may have to cut and rotate depends on how high you are going and as far as I no no rear disks

the only way you will get factory rear disc's is with a prado rear housing. they also have the same ctr as a hilux. and no you cant bolt the disc onto a hilux housing.

I pretty sure they are the same and think that you can bolt the complete rear into a 5 link surf.

The housing is 10mm wider. And the axles are also 5mm wider each. The spring mounts are realy not worth using. I used a coil housing in the rear of my buggy but wouldnt do it again. It is a lot easier to cut and clean the mounts of a leaf housing.

Easiest coil mounts to use are Range Rover Axle housing mounts from either the front or rear of any range rover from 1970-around 2000 in a Discovery. These just unbolt from the Rangie Housings and are easy to re-mount on anything else. Also the Rangie coils come in heaps of dimmerent rates from stock so these are also good to use.
