After my big drive yesterday, I took the car out of 4x4 and now everytime I push the clutch in it clicks Does anyone know what it could be? I have got in under the steering wheel and had a bit of a squiz but nothing

Can you pinpoint where the click is coming from? - under the car or in the footwell. The return spring for the clutch lever in the footwell might be the cause. Do you have a cable or hydraulic clutch? Hydraulic clutch will have a small resevoir as well as the brake fluid resevoir in the engine bay.

I would say, without looking at it, it could be the connection of the cable to the clutch fork mechanism being affected by water / mud (thats good). The other possibility is you got water and muck into the clutch plate and its making the bearing 'dirty'. (thats bad).

I had exactly the same thing for ages, after a drive where i was in a fair bit of water for a while and I think it washed out all the lubricant in the clutch.
I lubed every bit i could access both inside the cabin and out, but in the end I am pretty sure the the noise was from the swingarm that is on the side of the gearbox bellhousing and I couldnt get into it...
I put up with it for about six months and then it went away. Maybe something finally broke off...
