Filterbox...and 2nd battery?

Post by Macca177 »

Hey all

with tha lux the air intake is a bit bendy into the filterbox(2.8d duno bout the other motors)My auto elec is tryin to talk me into makin(gettin) a stright pipe into the filterbox, moved to where the snorkel goes into the gurad to make room for a 2nd battery. This to me seems to be the best place to make room for it.

The 1 main battery atm is in the tray out back which is bein moved back to the orginal postion in tha front as ive had a few electrical problems...auto elec has talked me into it.

does this setup sound ok? wot setup does anyone else have?
is there any benifet in makin the air intake pipe shorter and straighter other than slightly quicker air sucking in )??
Cheers, Hayden!

See if you can score an air cleaner from a Surf. It's a little bit of screwing around to fit - have to make a bracket to mount off the panel bolts or brace up a bolt hole - but it does give you room to fit 2 N70Z size batteries under the bonnet.

The series 2 Surfs have 2 batteries under the bonnet to power the electric everythings - seat warmers etc
