Tinting the sunroof on a Maverick

Hi, I have been told that I should tint the sunroof in my maverick as it will lessen the pressure put on the air conditioning and assist in keeping the inside cool in summer, this was told to me by an air-conditioing tech. I then went to a tint place and was told that if a put tint on the inside of the sunroof it will reflect the heat into the sunroof glass and more than likely shatter it. I don't want to do that with a near thousand dolar piece of glass. Just wondering if anyone knows of reflective tint which can be fixed to the outside of the glass, and if so where i can get some in the Brisbane region???

Thanks

why doesn't it shatter the side windows then? Is it a different type of glass? Is it thinner?
I'm intrigued :?:

i call rubbish. toughend auto glass is glass under stress. ie a piece of normal plate glass is heated to something silly like 600 degrees and rapidly cooled changing it toughend glass.
toughend glass-safety glass-breaks into heaps of little pieces
plate glass-window-breaks into large dagger-dangerous pieces
laminated glass-windsceens-2 pieces with a membrane between the two to hold them together.

mine has a factory sunroof cover that fits up under the glass. slide in fitting at the front and screw in on the back i think. going cheap compared to $1000 piece of glass. :D
