installing a set of IPF800s on my '93 Vitara LWB, 1.6 EFI. the spotties & loom i purchased in '94 (this is the third vehicle i've had them on - they keep on keepin' on!).
installed the spotties on the ARB bullbar, mounted the relay in the engine bay, connected the spotties, + & earth, but what colour wire in the headlight curcuit & where do i graft in?
i looked a wiring diagram on a previous thread, but being a bit of a hack in this field, i'd like some advice from anyone who knows for sure......
any advice is really appreciated!
cheers

pull the plug off the back of the globe... grab your multimeter...one leg to ground..get someone to turn lights on low beam and see which gives you 12v...the terminal that gives you 12v is your low beam circuit...
next flick it to high beam and check other terminals for 12v...
bingo... that should be your high beam wire

Unless it does that silly negative switching thing - in which case one terminal will always have 12V, and you'll need to revise your relay wiring.
Hopefully landy_man's procedure got you over the line...

Easiest way to connect to a Neg switching is to connect the switching circuit to the 2x outside pins on the H4 plug on the rear of the headlight.

thanks for all the advice, greatly appreciated!
i was in the vicinity of KAOS4x4 so dropped in, one of their staff spent 10 minutes explaining & showing me how - in language a elect numby like myself could understand.
the spotties work fine, maybe need to upgrade the battery &/or the alternator.....well its a good story for she who controls the accounts!
