Hey peoples,
I know this topic has been done to death, but i got told today that welding my linked rear isn't a good idea, as there is no movement with the links compared to leaf springs which can move around a bit and take the stress off the axles and diff. Apparatly this will result in me twisting splines very easily, just curious as to what you guys think, anyone had experience with road driving/offroading a welded/spooled coil rear end ?
Thanks, Jeremy

did i tell you about when i did mine
i welded my rear up and it was farked all it wanted to do was corkscrew and travel instead of skipping the tyres
!
it was in for about 20mins then came straight back out it was so undriveable...........................did a u turn on the road nice and slow and the ars3 went full travel and nearly fell over
i think it also twisted the splines a bit coz when i changed it back i had to do the nuts on the axle up to pull it all back in........... dunno though coz i havnt pulled the axle fully out yet
got it here if you want it strong as......wont break
if any one else wants it just pm me and ill work something out

Just do it. Then you will know for sure if you like it or not.

no offense travis but id say the suspension design on your vehicle contributed to that somewhat. I also realise you are changing it and congratulations on that, im sure it will be awesome when you are finished. You did a good job on the front, just lower it more
