Got a 308 in the MQ, and its running on straight gas as of a coupla weeks ago got sick of duel fuel......

Now people are telling me that seeing as there is no petrol to run thorugh the system every now and again that ill root the motor.....

Is it worth while fitting this flash lube adative system to my inlet manifold or is it all a load of rubbish?

thoughts?
Does it work?

cheers,

Also,

-The inlet manifold is a HIGH vacuum. ( Brake booster goes here )
-The Air intake/carbi is a LOW vacuum ( vacuum advance goes here )

Do i tap the flash lube into the HIGH of LOW vacuum?

cheers,

Screwy :D

DONT KNOW WHERE U SHOULD TAP IT BUT MOSTLIKLY HIGH PRESSURE VACUM AS THEY ARE ADJUSTABLE AS TO HOW MUCH YOU WANT FLOWING. IT IS NO BULL*HIT. YOU WILL NOTICE A BIG DIFFERENCE.

This is only necessary if you don't have hardened valve seats.

I've no idea whether this applies to your motor, but if it's okay on unleaded then it should be okay on gas.

Leaded petrol included tetraethylene lead which acted as a lubricant for old-style valves (with soft seats) as well as an anti-knock agent. Unleaded doesn't have the same lubricating properties anyway.

No suing me if I'm wrong though.

I was running unleaded, BUT i was using an inline converter to run it.
It runs leaded.
I dont have hardened seats.

Daniel,

I was getting anoyed with the lost power on one fuel or the other, and the pinging on petrol. I saw little point in keep petrol when i was on gas 99 percent of the time.
The only benefit of duel fuel is the jerry can ability of it.
Dont need it for a pure offroader/comp rig.

Your motor will last for years like it is...if you want to buy a flashlube system, go for it, as it wont hurt to fit it. If you still have the carbi on the motor, the seals will dry out in it with or without the flashlube.
Dont buy the gold looking oil, but fill the bottle with diesel, at 50 cents per fill, it wont break the bank, and will lube aswell as the flashlube gold oil:-)
