bent and snapped steering - kinda fixed

hey had a fun little episode on sunday at canungra on sunday, snaped the steering coupling on the colum. thats easy fixed but i think the arm that goes from the steering box to the drag link (all standard steering) is also bent inwards. its got rock rash on it back to shiny metal, guess thats why the coupling snapped, and when the wheels are straight it positions the draglink about in the middle of the spring. is that correct or is it bent???
ok so i scored a steering coupling from the wreckers for 30 bucks and put it all back together but it looks like the reason it broke was the numnut that did the body lift ( no it wasnt me ) never let the tension off the splines on the shaft so the rubber thingy has been under stress the whole time. so my question is, i've let the spline slide out and not its only griping on about 10 or 15 mmm of spline from the steering box and the bolt is out of that little grove in the spline. is that safe or should i do somthing else??
