Hi all, just interested to know, when and if it ever happens that I run out of diesel, how do you prime one of these suckers, have had plenty of experience with trucks but I can't see a hand pump on the injector pump anywhere, am I wrong? So how?
Bogged, I know you're gonna say "don't run out of fuel numb nuts, keep it fueled up!" but sometimes shit happens mate.

TD42 = its on the passengers side ontop of the fuel filter. Black round thingy.. bout 2in round.
You see the pumpthingy on the fuel filter? Undo the butterfly bolt next to that and push down on plunger (moves about 1/2 a cm!) like shit until fuel flows freely, hold pump down do up butterfly bolt.

na no requirement for takin the piss... I was in same boat as you one day.. changed filter and couldnt understand why the plunger wouldnt move, it almost feels as though it doesnt - almost 'pops' like when you open a glass juice bottle and the sealed lid pops..

Also there is another screw on top of the injection pump where the spill return pipe connects to the injection pump, that you need to loosen and bleed air from using the hand primer on the fuel filter. BUT you should only need to bleed air here if you let it completely run out of fuel.
