It´s time to change diffs and gear and transfer boxes and i´d like to know what do you recommend, for gear, transfer and front diff sae 80 or sae 90? and what do you recommend for the rear LSD diff?
My truck is a GenII 2.5 tdi.
Thankyou and regards.

I recently replaced gearbox and transfer oil with Valvoline 75W90 Synthetic blend, and I'm not overly impressed. The gearshift is still notchier than I like, although it doesn't seem quite as bad when its cold - but that could be because the weather is getting warmer.
I recall recently hearing that I should have stuck with a GL4 rated oil, rather than the GL5, for the gearbox- the GL4 is supposed to help the synchro rings work better.
I've bought Penrite LS90 for the rear LSD, but haven't done the change yet. I'm also trying to work out what to run in the front diff - once the diff lock is installed.
Cheers,
Scott

That's a good question, what should you use in a front diff with an air locker? Standard diff oil, or does ARB have a special brew they recommend?

You should be using a GL5 140 heavy grade with lockers.
I run this in the front & rear diffs and the lighter grade for the t/case & gearbox.
