I put 40mm unistrut brackets between the guard and the body at the corners of the guards so the guard was flared outward by the brackets. I also then with my bare hands flared the guard out around the circumference.

If you're not too concerned about cosmetics, start cutting!
I've cut my guards up to the same level as the inner wheel arch and i'm planning on screwing the rubber flare to the inner wheel arch, sticking out past the outer guard.
The rear is another matter. You have to cut your rear doors!
The outer skin is easy, being aluminium, but the inner skin is steel. You'll also need to fill the gap, unless you want LOTS of mud and water in your doors!
Making it look good can be tricky, but if you're patient, you can really make the flares look good, and kinda factory looking!
BTW, I too would like to see anyone's pics on cutting front guards and rear quarters/door to fit bigger rubber, and to fit flares.
