I broke 1 with NOS and 35's on the street and I broke another with 500hp, 39.5 TSL's and the idiot peddle on rocks. Both were only H233 so yer they are pretty tuff, I havnt broken my H260 axles yet. :D

I've seen a few break, and know of a few more that have broken all from the same spot at Cruiser Park.. It's a log with a slight undercut under one wheel.. It's also claimed a GU axle.. All tyre sizes would have been between 35-37"..

broke left rear axle [GU h233b] on the log at the bottom of the rock climb at cruiser park competition gorge.
3 GQ's have done exactly the same in the same spot.
Image
usually happened going over on a slight angle and slipping backwards while still spinning forward and when the wheel tried to drive "under" the log....snap!!

I reckon you should focus your blame on the guy in the orange shirt - he always seems to be there when they break... :D

i think it would be pretty damm hard to bust a rear axle, i have one side out at the moment & the axle is at least 40mm dia. must break at the splines?
