Just got an O.K. from warranty folk for a lift. The zook lift section is good value, but is there anything I should know that is Vitara specific?
Any tips would be much appreciated.

Earlier vits (both SWB and LWB) will have 8 lift points not 10 like sierra.
There's a thread here about vitara lift issues.... you will find that the plastic bumpers can be issues as they're connected to the body and chassis.
Do a search on "Beastmavster", "Antt" and "body lift" all in one search and you'll find a thread with stuff about fitting.
There's also a thread with photos on iZook

gv also has 8 points ,steering is the worst part of the whole job . All we did was lift the bumper supports up 2 inch to meet the body lift

do you need to lift it with those tyres or are you planning on some bigger ones?

It's a SWB '92 Vit. Liftin for rubber not looks. Thinking about getting BFG M/Ts ..31s should do the trick. That or Goodyear MT/Rs. Something for on/off road, as I'm planning a trip to Fraser Island at the end of the year.

i have 2 inch lift in mine and didn't have to do anything with steering, brakelines, or anything. the one drama i did have was the rubber hose that goes between the motor and the airbox cracking. because it is mounted to the inner guard at one end, and the motor at the other, it gets stretched a fair way when lifting it to fit the blocks.
mine was pretty rooted before that though, so if your rubber isn't perished on it like mine was, it might stretch without tearing. i've just got a hose off a vt commodore now on mine cause suzuki wanted $135 or soemthing for a genuine one

Thanks guys, shouldn't be half as nasty as I expected.
I'll check the threads as well.
