which order do you do it in?
Rave says drivers side front passenger front then rears.
I have bled the system 3 times no air coming through but pedal still not as firm as I would like.
front wheels require a balance I think as there is a slight wobble as speed(poss knocking pads back) the pads were new all round in March no significant wear, even all round front and rear.
pedal solid until engine switched on and Servo adds assistance, or you drive a short distance.
press and hold pedal it does not sink lower once pressure applied
any suggestions other than leave it well alone?

Do Defenders front calipers have the 3rd bleed nipple at top inside like rangies? If you just bleed the other (more obvious) 2 you can't get all air out.

I guess the order given in the rave instructions is due to the split braking system.

Defenders have one bleed nipple per caliper
I have just done them again(yes in the dark) this time longest run first working towards the shortest run.
I will get the wheels balanced as this may be causing the pad s to be knocked back, I can't find anything else amiss the pads are in good order
the fluid that came out was a medium/dark brown although only 10months old. I have refilled it with DOT5.1 (non synthetic) higher boiling point than DOT4 although they mix fine according to the container.

The correct order to do the bleeding on rear wheel drives with split system brakes is longest run first then working down to the shortest run.ie NSR,OSR,NSF,OSF on a landy
