tail shaft length in SOA

Hey, did anyone find their tail shaft was short when they did SOA? Mine appears approx. 5mm short when the vehicle is sitting on its wheels, this would surely mean it will be way short when she flexes. Is it ok to machine up a tail shaft spacer? Is there any calculation to work out the optimal tail shaft length?

might be a stupid thought, but was wondering how the front drive shaft in the SWB patrols compared to the rear...are they a little longer??? would it be as strong? I'm at work so i can't just run outside and ease my mind. How does the GQ tail shaft compare length and fittings wise with the mq/mk stuff?
Snake racing make the 25mm shaft spacer... I may need more then 25mm, spacers aren't recommended for greater gaps. Thoughts anyone??

from memory its 55mm to the front shaft and 60mm to the rear shaft ( L28 petrol motor setup).
Unless you have acess to a lathe and know what ya doing with one, it
WILL pay to get em legthened + balanced professionally.
you'll also need to extend your brake lines too by 100mm

yes i have had the brake lines extended already, just about finished the SOA, didn't expect the tail shaft length issue. If i was to get the shaft professionally lengthened, what price should i expect and what position should i be aiming to achieve in the sliding spline at level vehicle position? ie. mid way along spline?
would the L28 drive shafts be longer then the sd33's. The petrol motor wouldn't be as deep would it? ie. longer tail shaft??
cheers

SD33 rear shaft is shorter than the L28 rear shaft
SD33 front shaft is longer than the L28 front shaft
reason being that the SD33 motor and gearbox combination sits 135mm further towards the rear of the 4x4 compared to the L28 setup.
expect around the $150 per shaft for lengthing & rebalencing !
