Just a quick question about the air filter housing in the GU.
I was checking out the filter the other day, and notced that there is a small hole on the bottom of the housing. I suppose it is to drain any water that enter it. However i have a snorkle fitted to it and now i find it kind of poinless if the filter housing has a hole in it. Wouldnt the vacum just suck up the water if water level went that high?
should i plug it up? i may be doing a few fords and river crossings on the weekend.

That's why it is there, and I wouldn't be sealing it.
Some people install valve there, and leave it open for water to drain while drivind on road and close the valve when they about to cross deep water crossing(to stop water entering through it).
I have been through deep water(over bonnet high) few times and didn't have any problems with it.

Snorkels are supposed to have a relief into the back of ram head to allow water to escape.. if its really pissin down for hours/days, spin the head around, it takes about 10 seconds.

i have sealed mine ...dont want water to get in if i am stuck in deep water... would probably be ok if you keep moving but i don't want to take the chance.
i have never had any water in mine and as the air outlet is at the top it would have to completely fill up before getting to the engine.
the air outlet was on the bottom of the GQ one i had, so the GU one is a much better design.

Also check join between airbox and snorkel under LHS guard behind headlight. You need to remove the headlight to seal it up properly. Dought it's been done.
