I'm looking to try and lower the cabin noise in my cruiser.
Does anyone know of a good product to use or of a company who does this sort of stuff? I have looked at the usual detailing mobs but they can really offer anything that is worth while or that effective. I live in the Territory and so I do allot of K’s on the highway to get to anywhere.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Carpet is a great sound proofer so make sure you have that with underlay. Spray bitumen paint stuff onto your wheel openings etc. Wind you windows up and take the panels off and lay some sound deadner (marine carpet will work too) on the door panel. This will stop some of the drumming noise. Make sure all your rubber seals are in good condition and are sealing properly. A good place to find sound deadening stuff is with auto trimmers they will know what is good and if they don't have it will know where to get it.

Car audio places also sell sound deadener - big sheets of sticky black stuff you put on the inside of doors etc.
Serious car stereo freaks cover their cars in it to stop rattles/flexing panels and road noise...

Some of the aftermarket moulded carpet places sell the under bonnet sound insulation. Supposedly that can make a difference.

The main problem with the older vehicles with big flat panels is that the panels tend to "boom" as they flex when driving, if you can apply sound deadners or carpet even rubber sheeting will do, it takes the flex out of the metal. Also make sure you have firewall insulation, the rubbers around the g/shift and t/case lever are new and adequately attached. Alos things like proper tyre inflation and tyres in good condition and obviously all terrains instead og boggers will make a big differenece too.
