hey people my fuel pump is busted i would say on my nissan 1988 GQ 4.2l petrol carbie< mech pump>

just had it running for 5 mins stand still and seems to be leaking fuel out the pump.

question? can you replace the seal on the pump overhaul?
or do you have to buy a whole newish one?

Need a new pump. MAKE sure you fit the spacer between pump and block.

I have used an electric Repco /facet pump on a 4.2 petrol before with sucess.

If you remove mech pump and go electric you will need to put a plate on block.

I think new mech pump from East coast spares or similar is about $120
