Sticking brakes

After upgrading the brakes on my Hilux with 80 series calipers, M/C and booster I'm finding the brake pedal seems to be sticking down a bit after I apply pressure on it. It will eventually slow the car to a stop, despite the huge torque of the mighty 2.8 resisting it.

If I put my foot under the brake pedal and force it back up (it doesn't seem to move much) everything seems good again.

At first I thought I should put a new caliper kit on the front brakes, but now I am thinking the problem is either in the M/C or booster, or would putting a stronger spring on the brake pedal be enough?

Might want to pull the master cylinder to bits and have a look inside. The pistons could be sticking as the conversion may have made it operate outside where it has been previously.

Or the return spring on the lux is not as strong as the cruiser one on the pedal?

Good point.

Check you have clearance between the booster pushrod and the mastercylinder, then check you have clearance/free play between the pedal stop and the pedal with the booster push rod fully returned.

the problem is more than likely going to be the pushrod length. THe length of the pushrod will need to be shortened, so as to stop the piston covering the relief port. This port allows the brake fluid pressure to equalise and release the brakes.
