My rear drive shaft is currently sitting around 25 degrees the mechanic left the Chevy Tranny too hign along with the transfercase.
My question is what is the greatest recommended angle for the drive shaft? I am going to try and lower the Chevy Tranny by an inch and the transfer case by an inch hopefully this will help

I think its between 10-15% after that you the joint becomes very ineffecient and wear incerases dramaticly.

I think lowering case may be a backwards step, as its the first thing you hang up on, offroad. Saying that, many ppl do that.
I used engine mounts, instead of t-case mounts, to lift mine and move it back slightly....maybe you could do similar to lower yours if needed, or just change the angle...ie different thickness of rubber mounts to achieve ya aim? christover

I don't know what you can do to rectify the situation, but I can tell you that leaving it the way it is will be the best way of blowing your unis appart!
A mate of mine has the same problem. When he finishes driving a hard track, he gets out to see how much smoke is coming off his uni joints in his rear shaft to gauge whether or not to keep driving!

Why dont you put in a double cardin shaft ? They are a bit pricey but well worth the money.

Cool Thanks the turkey the did my engine swap put the Chevy tranny about an inch too high at the rear . He used a plasma cutter to make it fit however he put it about an inch higher than stock Suzuki Tranny,
The new shop has a mechanic that has a father that is a farmer and mechanist who made a decent shaft. Hopefully I can things fixed up shortly
