what year 4runner, what box do you want to use, manual or auto?
don't expect to get away withn it for less than 7-8 k. Marks conversion kit is nearly $4000, then theres wiring, exhaust, a/c etc. If you want anything more drop me a line. had mine now for 4 yrs and have gone from manual to auto. Also have a sump for the ifs.
John.

Srry its a 1990 4runner, had expected to have to go auto, what are they like in the bush.
That price for the marks kit, can sum pieces be fabricated at home?

The autos pretty good , just select gear and let it go. Down hill is abit different with the auto wanting to run away, different driving styles needed. You'll be able to get away with some of the stuff but you'll need engine mounts, gearbox extension housing ( bellhousing adapter ) and a manual fan. I run the standard V6 fuel pump in tank and it works fine.

Marks page specifically for the V6 Auto Conversion
http://www.marks4wd.com/hiluxa.html
Marks page concerning V6 conversion in general (has all the parts that are used in both the auto and manual conversion)
http://www.marks4wd.com/hilux-holden-v6.html
Here are the parts I bought from marks. Anything else I feel can be got elsewhere or D.IY'd
Adapter
MFK354 - TH700R-4 to Hilux/4-Runner gear driven transfer case fitted with a 5-speed gearbox. RRP $795 inc GST
Shifter Mounting Kit
MFK1145/H - Shifter mounting and display kit to suit TH700/4L60E into Toyota Hilux 4/Runner pre 1988. RRP $295 inc GST
Engine Mounts
MFK130P - Commodore V6 to Hilux/4-Runner fitted with 3Y or 4Y petrol with leaf spring front suspension. RRP $215 inc GST
Tacho Interface
MFK950 - Tachometer interface to suit Hilux/4-Runner 4-cylinder petrol models. RRP $125 inc GST
Interface Wiring Loom
MFK648 - Commodore V6 VN, VP, and VR engine interface loom. RRP $385 inc GST
Vehicle Speed Sensor
MFK696 - Hall effect VSS to suit cable driven speedometers. RRP $330 inc GST
Oil Pressure Adapter
MFK677 - Oil pressure adaptor for Hilux/4-Runner all models. RRP $35 inc GST
Water Temperature Adapter
MFK1022 - Water pressure adaptor for Hilux/4-Runner all models. RRP $35 inc GST
TOTALS $2215
Obviously yours will be a little different being a different engine to start with (mine was a 3Y). But even some of these things could be fabricated. Engine mounts for instance and even the wiring loom if you wanna burden yourself with that headache. As for the engine driven fan I dont really see the point when thermo fans will suffice. Bear in mind though there are a ton of other expenses. Radiator, exhaust. engine computer, auto, torque converter, engineering, all the small incedentals and the list goes on.

the only thing i used from Marks was the adapter from the auto to the transfers.
everyting else i fab'd myself or just used the commo stuff.
it helps if your mates with a good auto electrician.
if u have any questions don't hesitate, it's an easy conversion.
Cheers Chris

Yeah Roc I remember your build up you lucky bastard lol. Was hoping to get down to orm with Beebee a couple weekends back to have a look.
Mad I'd say Rocs build up is as cheap as you can get it. But if I remember correctly he was getting stuff rebuilt by mates for cartons or somehting. If you've got the connections or know how go this route. Mucho cheapo. But I wouldnt reccomend spending any more than I did on the marks stuff. 3-4 k just for marks gear is crazy.
