hey im gonna knock up some extended rear shackles for something to do at uni tomorow (havnt finished designing the tube tray yet and i have to look like im doing something)
so im wondering wat length to make them to level the truck out wen i drop the front shackle mount and also wat thickness steel is strong enough.
Appart from caster correction plates, shocks, breaklines and driveshafts are there anyother areas i've missed? will it allow the truck to flex better (already running 2 inch ome's and 2 inch body lift) and also clear 35's.

comeon guys gotta buy the steel in an hour. as far as i can gather from the previous posts, every inch longer u make the shackle u get 1/2 an inch lift, and dropping the front shackle mount will give approx 2 inches of lift?? so a rear shackle 4 inches longer than standard??

im looking at making them 186mm eye to eye which should give about 2 inches of lift. anyone know wat diameter hilux spring bushes are, i think 16 mm but the ones im measureing off are really chopped out to like 21mm. got 50x8mm flat bar and 50x50x3mm box for the brace. wat bolts do i use high tensile ok??

lil86 ur rig would suit with the shacles under the front of ur hilux will put more angle on ur front uni!! the best thing when doing the exteneded shackle is to get the front spring mounts exteneded aswell...thats an easy project if u want to do it!..but u would have to raise the rraear too. also take in to consideration the angle the rear diff may be on..like facing to far upwards...plays havic with trying to renew diff oils...to the right level anyway
cheers
