What was hitting when you 'bottomed out' ??

Diff ??
Chassis ??
Poor Approach / Departure angles ??

the simplest fix for all of these problems would be bigger tyres......just gotta make them fit by doing Suspension mods and/or bodylift.....but then you compromise the gearing........it's a trade-off.

BTW, I assume that you have removed your sway-bar ;)

I went heavy duty TJM springs with a 2 inch lift and new shockies all round. I went the heavy duty torsion bars too but they are only an option and not all that important.
All up mine was about 1800 bucks. The optional bars were 400 of that and then i paid for them to be installed as well (for warranty reasons). So I guess it all comes down to how much u wanna spend. Keep in mind that there's only so much u can do with an IFS and sometimes i wonder if all the money i've spent, would have been better put to a more serious offroad rig (Toyota 80 series comes to mind). The ride I get out of mine is a bit harsher but I never expected it to ride like a car. It's the compromise you pay for fitting heavy duty.
And shop around too cause there are some serious price variances between stores.
Not sure what tyres your running but dont over look the increase you'll get from fitting bigger tyres too.

You'll get so many different answer's on the lift that in the end it's best to make a decision on what research and info you've gathered.
